Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created in the 1970s. The title refers to a stated connection between the neurological processes ("neuro"), language ("linguistic") and behavioral patterns that have been learned through experience ("programming") and can be organized to achieve specific goals in life. (Wikipedia)
Neuro-Lingustic Programming is not without it's scientific critics. To the critics, I would say, one of the biggest lies is, "One Size Fits All." There has never a medicine, a medical procedure, method of teaching or method of learning that has worked 100% of the time, for 100% of the people. As a communicator, as a salesman, I would rather know this skill, and be a practicioner of this skill, than be ignorant of it and how to use it effectively. (Editor, Jim Vaughan)
Neuro-Lingustic Programming is a subset of skills in the emerging field of Positive Psychology.
